Spinach Puri

Spinach Puri is a healthy and delicious Indian food which is prepared by spinach flour,and other Indian spices such as hing, ajwain etc. Puri is always liked by kids and elders but, when you try with Vegetable flour it enhances the taste of puri. This green color puri is an excellent lunch for your kids due to its high vitamins and minerals content. So try this Puri made from Country Kitchen Company Spinach Atta.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Spinach Flour
  • ½ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  • Water as required
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Salt as per taste

Making Spinach Puri Dough

  • Take 2 cups of Spinach flour in a bowl.
  • Add ½ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain), 1 pinch asafoetida (hing) and salt as per taste.
  • Add water as required and make a semi-soft dough.
  • Cover and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough in small to medium-sized balls. Roll them into neat round balls.
  • Apply some oil on both sides of the dough.
  • With a rolling pin (belan), gently roll flat to make 3–4 inch puri.

Frying Palak Puri

  • Heat oil in a pan or kadhai.
  • Once the oil is hot, gently place a rolled flat puri in the kadai.
  • Deep fry the puris on both sides.
  • Press with a flat spoon so that the palak puri puffs up while frying.
  • Remove the green Palak puri with the slotted spoon.
  • Place the fried Spinach puri on tissue paper to remove excess oil. Prepare remaining palak puri in the same way.
  • Serve hot with any curry or gravy.
